Veteran’s Day is coming and you can’t miss the opportunity to thank our nations Veterans.  Long after the uniform comes off, our military members still deserve a “welcome home” and a heart-felt thanks for their service.  These brave men and women are special in that they gave up the luxuries that we enjoy for four or more years.  Those early formative adult years (usually between 18 and 22) shaped their entire lives, and not to mention the lives of the family members that supported and continue to support them today.

Ask a Veteran how the service impacted their lives.  You might be surprised to learn about their daily work, routines, even muscle aches and pains that still exist from years of service.

Veteran’s Day is the day to thank a Veteran for his or her service, not to be confused with Memorial Day (a day set aside to honor those that lost their lives in combat).  In the United States, Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11 every year, the same day that World War I hostilities formally ended (at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month) https://www.dosomething.org/facts/11-facts-about-veterans.

We are used to seeing stores market massively during this time of year, be it Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas (oh and not to forget New Year’s Eve!).  It seems that November 11th, Veteran’s Day, gets shoved under a rug.  Perhaps we can celebrate our beloved Veterans by offering gifts, and taking them out for a meal. Some restaurants offer a complimentary meal to Veterans, so make sure to do your research on the internet.  Keep your Veteran in mind and honor them on November 11th for their service.
